Two months after landing in Encinitas, DC-transplant Chiko is prepping to debut its kitchen counter feature on Monday, January 28. The four counter seats, available for parties of two or four, are perched in full view of the open kitchen with reservations scheduled at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. nightly. At $50 per person, the interactive, multi-course dinners are the best way to experience the totality of co-chefs Danny Lee and Scott Drewno’s Chinese-Korean menu, which ranges from their bestselling “orange-ish chicken” to tri-tip skewers featuring Seaside Market’s famous Cardiff Crack.

Swizzle Chill: Chiko opens West Coast location November 14 in Encinitas, California

The owners of Chiko, a popular, Washington, D.C. Chinese-Korean eatery influenced by the creations of chef Danny Lee and support of co-owners Scott Drewno and also Drew Kim, from Matchbox pedigree, are set to open a West Coast location in the Greater San Diego Area, Calif. The tweet today confirmed that the new Chiko restaurant will open November 14 at 4 p.m. in Encinitas, a beach-centric town 25 miles north of San Diego on the eve of a new Chiko restaurant opening in Dupont Circle.
